That's a wrap, folks!

Library Ninja has greatly enjoyed participating in the Western Australia Public Libraries - Learning 2.0 Basics course.

There were a few technologies covered that Library Ninja has been meaning to get around to investigating – like setting up a blog, subscribing to RSS feeds and using Twitter – and he probably never would have if not for the course.

It was definitely interesting to go into the course with certain preconceptions about some of the Web 2.0 technologies, and to find out that they were actually misconceptions :-)

For example, Library Ninja never thought he'd find Twitter useful, as he doesn't see himself tweeting his every (bowel) movement like some users, but it was interesting to see that Twitter can be a very useful tool even if one is simply receiving tweets.

The course has also confirmed for Library Ninja the importance of using Web 2.0 technologies like Facebook and blogs to get information out in a timely fashion and to generate sharing and discussion – which has been another great part of the course. Interacting with other participants (often from other branches) through the posting of wiki content, blog comments and tweets has been an enjoyable and informative exercise.

It has been interesting to see the impact web technologies have had on human interaction over the last few years...and Library Ninja is interested to see where it takes us in the next few!
